Hello,
We have our next field trip this Wednesday to the Building for Kids. Students will need to pack a lunch if you did not indicate you wanted a school lunch. Remember to pack a drink with their lunch as well. It is a really fun field trip that the students always enjoy!

I will submit one last book order on Friday afternoon if you would like to order any books for the summer.  The link is: scholastic.com/bookclubs and the code for our classroom is J4RGH

Reading: We will begin to share out the information that we learned in our non-fiction books. We will review note taking strategies and make tri-fold posters to share information.  At the end of the week we will share with the other first graders.

Writing: This week we will be revising and editing our writing.  We will use strategies and charts that we have used throughout the school year to help us.  We will publish our pieces at the end of the week.

Math: We will finish up with measuring this week.  We will review and have our test at the end of the week on time, shapes, and measurement. 

Social Studies: This week we will finish up our community centers and we will have our field trip to the Building for Kids.

November 5-9

Hello, This Thursday and next Tuesday we will have our portfolio conferences. I am excited to share what students have been working on! We encourage the students to attend to give an opportunity to take pride in their work. Please let me know if you have any questions. September 17th

Hello! Hello! We are learning our routines in first grade quickly and it has been fun getting to know everyone with student of the day.  If your child hasn’t brought home a paper bag yet, their day will be coming soon! Thank you for checking planners each night! Red family night forms went home last week and are due back on Wednesday. Here is our class schedule (Notice that library checkout is DAY 4)  Upcoming Events:  9/17-9/20: Safety Week 9/21: No School 9/25: Family Night 9/26: Picture Day 10/10: National Walk to School Day Reading: We will think about some of the bad habits we have developed such as mumbling across hard words, asking an adult to tell us, and skipping words.
